Tofu boxes
just thought I’d bring a bit of ‘life’ back to the dull boxes in the storage room…

Current work in progress…
Recently I have been working on a little personal project called ‘SURREALITERALISMS‘. It is something I had in mind for quite a while now, and which is why I would like to finally express it in my art. The basic idea is about playing with the intricate and ambiguously-possible (yes! ;D) ’sounds’ or phonetic ‘tones’ when pronouncing Chinese four-character phrases or 成語 (don’t know if there is a word for that in English..) and showing them in the most ‘literal’ sense possible! This inevitably conjures up many interesting and humorous ideas, and often surrealistic in style when illustrated. I would like to try and express as many Chinese 成語 as possible, and hopefully introduce an unusual, new and fun way of looking and understanding them. Below is a little glimpse of the stuff I’ve been producing, for you to see:

Shy Devy..
Custom Baby Qee Kitty.
Shy Devy does not like to look at other toys, sadly…

Toy | (EYE)gotcha
First attempt at sculpey toy modelling : ) This model was a loose version of (EYE)gotcha. He has a rough skin and an asymmetrical body – I call him spotty 狗仔 (doggy)!
